Types of Fiber Optic patch panels?

Three types of fiber optic patch panel.

  1. Din rail mounted Fiber Optic Patch Panel.
  2. Wall-Mounted Fiber Optic Patch Panel.
  3. Rack-Mounted Fiber Optic Patch Panel.

Din rail mounted fiber optic patch panel

Din rail patch panel is designed to support fusion splicing or direct termination of the fibers. Because of its compact and ruggedly designed case, it is suitable for industrial applications. Din rail mounted patch panel includes a splice tray for fusion splicing. Din rail enclosure is compact in size and can be mounted on a cabinet with other din rail equipment where there is space constraints inside PLC’s. Din rail patch panels are suitable to mount in substation automation networks and these can be used to provide a maximum number of fiber connections in a minimal footprint.

Din Rail mount fiber patch panel is used in CCTV traffic monitoring, toll systems and environmental monitoring equipment where these can be secured in small wayside cabinet backplane or side panel. The Din rail patch panel can be loaded with a variety of adapters like ST, SC, FC and LC.

Application:

  • Oil & Gas Industries
  • CCTV & Survelliance Applications
  • Rail Signalling & control Applications
  • Process Automation & Control Systems
  • Power Systems & Controls

Wall-Mounted Fiber Optic Patch Panel

Wall-mount patch panel can keep 12 different fibers separated from each other. If the fiber optic cable contains more than 12 fibers, the extra fibers can be moved to a second fiber optic patch panel, or the engineer can use a fiber optic patch panel, designed to individually install more fibers, to hold the fibers.

Wall-mount patch panel makes the inside fiber optic adapter panels, patch cables and pigtails realise the function of optical fiber distribution. And they are used for protecting fiber optic cables and connections of pigtails in fiber optic cabling and user terminal applications. The Wall-mount patch panel is installed on the indoor wall with a terrace which can provide a flexible fiber management system for transiting external device cables to indoor cables and for connector assemblies. Wall mounted din rail patch panel is also available in 6, 12 ports

Rack-Mounted Fiber Optic Patch Panel

Rack-mount fiber patch panel can hold the fibers horizontally and it is usually designed to open like a drawer. The top-opened structure makes engineers access to the inside of optical fibers easily. Rack-mount fiber patch panel is optional with all kinds of fiber optic adapter ports, pre-installed inner trays and accessories. And fiber optic pigtails of different types are optional, such as SC, FC, ST, LC, E2000, etc. Also, rack-mounted patch panels can be customized by the fiber counts.

Rack-mount fiber patch panel is used for fiber optic cable termination and distribution. And this makes it convenient to organise and connect the fiber opticlinks. Rack-mounted fiber patch panel are suitable to coonnect many fiber optical products, such as DWDM MUX-DEMUX, Rack Chassis Splitter, fiber to ethernet converters, EDFAs, Optical Distribution Frame (ODF), etc. They are fully stable with no risk of movement and create a secure environment for fiber optic adapters, patch cables and pigtails.
